Day 30~

While lots of our state saw snow this weekend, we only had ice with a little sleet.
Oh well, maybe next year we'll see some of the white stuff!

Happy Mail
My 2-month supply of vitamins, supplements, etc.
It's a lot to swallow, but when your adrenal and thyroid glands go kaput, you'll do just about anything to feel better again!

Day 26~

Load #3 for today.
Longing for summer laundry.
A lot less material in shorts and t-shirts compared to long pants and layers.
But grateful that my family has clothes to wear, and modern conveniences to help with this chore.

Day 25~

The boys and I go on lots of 'dates' with one another.  Sometimes it is what they consider a fancy date- dinner and a movie or a little shopping.  But other times it's nothing other than a little fast food and sweet conversation.  The one thing that always remains the same is that our dates are one on one.  It's their own special time.

Today Wyatt and I had a little date.  We chatted over chicken fingers, french fries, and fried pickles (not so great) about our day, how his OT appointment went, and why he thinks I need a Jupiter Jack.  Bless his heart!

Over the years, I've seen the boys not only look forward to our dates, but actually had them ask me when we were going out on another one.  I hope when they're older, they'll still want to go on dates with me!  I wouldn't miss them for the world!

Day 23~

Typical Saturday night spent ironing clothes for church in the morning.

Day 22~

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I've decided that in order to take a picture a day, I'm going to need to make this a family project!  I'm terrible at making decisions.  I've found myself unsure of which picture should be our POTD.  Tonight I enlisted my sweet Cameron to help me, since he was the focus of today's photos.  Above is the one he chose.  He said he liked it because it had all 3 of his creations in the picture!  (He didn't care that is was blurry, so why should I?)
The parrot he made for Superman, our beloved Parrot head!

I've often told this sweet boy that God must have loved me a whole lot to have given me a child as precious as him!  He is so thoughtful and kind.  He wears his heart on his sleeve, and often has his feelings hurt.  That is sometimes harder for me than it is for him.  Lord, I love my boys!  They truly are my joys!

The helicopter is the K'Nex he built for his brother.
Please Lord, let him always love his brother enough to want to do sweet things for him.  Help me instill in them the desire to be their brother's keepers.
The daisy he built for me.  Am I blessed or what?  My sweet boy already knows his mama's favorite flower!  Please Lord, help me to be observant to his needs, as he is already observant to what his mama needs.  He is so quiet that I sometimes worry that I'm not hearing what he needs me to hear.  Open my ears, Lord.

Day 21~

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Have you ever tried making The Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls?  They are so good that Superman gave me lots and lots of smooches as I was trying to take the first pan out of the oven.  Oh, my!  They really are THAT good!

But consider yourself forewarned!  The recipe makes a ton of cinnamon rolls!
As in, two pans this size!

Day 20~

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mama came into town this week, and we went to dinner at Cracker Barrel with the boys and one of my aunts.  All of their 2010 calendars were on sale at 70% off.  I didn't really NEED another calendar.  I keep one in my purse, one on my clipboard, one on the corkboard with monthly pictures of the boys.  Really, how many calendars does one girl need?

But this one was just too cute to pass up.

I shouldn't have been surprised when my aunt saw which calendar I had in my hand, and said, "Your Mama bought the same one when we were out shopping."

I guess I should just chalk it up to both of us having good taste! :)

Day 16~

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We spent this weekend with THE Godparents. When they are in town, there is always lots of fun to be had!

Superman's business helped sponsor the Power Pro Wrestling event held at one of the local middle schools. So, of course, we went!

(More on Hacksaw here.)

That particular gym just happened to have been Superman's and the Godfather's high school gym 20-something years ago. It was a nostalgic night. tee-hee!

Wyatt was in rare form! He loves spending time with THE Godparents, but in order for me to get this picture, I had to first get this one:

and this one:
and this one:Thank heavens the Godwoman knows how to handle him!I love these two!

They are the best friends a couple could ask for!

I managed to get one more pic that I really must share! Maybe it should have been my picture of the day...Yes, ma'am! This wrestler's behind really does say, "AS SEEN ON TV".

Day 15~

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Poor Superman filleted his finger at work today on a piece of metal.
He's SO much tougher than me!
I'd have had to be taken to the ER... by ambulance!

Day 13~ Rainbow Cake Take TWO

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is still cold here, and I didn't have any small firewood to get a fire going without Superman at home. I heated up left-over soup while the joys and I worked on school. The kitchen was warm and cozy. It inspired me to bake a cake.

Originally, I wanted to bake Nana Mae's pound cake, but I was out of milk. And, I was too lazy to go to the grocery store. (How's that for honesty?) Several months ago I made this rainbow cake.

I had also seen this tutorial.
I used it as my inspiration today!
You can find another similar idea at Sara's Art House.

Day 12~

My sweet, baby brother comes to stay with us once each quarter.
He claims it's for business meetings.
But, I think that he just loves to come see me.
...and he likes to goof off with Superman.
...and nothing is as entertaining as a night with my joys.
...and my couch is really comfy!

Meetings-schmeeting!
He loves me!
(even when I bust in on him in the bathroom to get my pic of the day!)

Day 10~

Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't!

Day 9~

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
After seeing the joys and Superman in this picture, I'm re-thinking how necessary it is to have them in my pictures this year!

Obviously, the littlest joy is not a fan of PORKchops.
Can you tell?
Funny thing though, he doesn't mind eating bacon.
He doesn't even believe me when I tell him that bacon is pork, too!

The oldest joy is fairy innocent as usual!
(Thank you, Cameron!!!)

But since Superman is busy putting bunny ears on the oldest joy, I guess I shouldn't be surprised at Wyatt's pose, huh?

All I can say is, bless my heart!

Day 8~

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wyatt now has PT twice a month, instead of once a week. We still adore Mrs. Pam and all the wonderful people that have helped us at Moore Orthopaedics. To read more about physical therapy, and why the littlest joy needs it, go here.

Day 7~

This year I sorted out the boys' ornaments and had them place their own ornaments anywhere they wanted on our family tree. Having their ornaments sorted into a pile for Cameron and a pile for Wyatt made a huge difference! There were NO fights over ornaments. Each joy just went to their own pile. It was glorious.

When the time came to take down the trees, I remembered this post from Meg at Whatever. I bought 2 boxes for the joys and let them fill the boxes up with their ornaments as we took them off the trees. Cameron used lots and lots of tissue to protect his favorite ornaments! He is definitely our meticulous child!

Day 6~

Thank you, Superman! You build the best fires!

Tuesday, January 5, 2010

Day 5~

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What on Earth? This non-animal lover's home as been invaded by the joys' beloved kitties! With temperatures not even getting into the 40's this week, the nights have been too cold to let the kitties stay outside at night.

Though this has made me cringe, it's made for two very happy boys! And, even I must admit that when my oldest joy said, "Mama, it makes my heart so happy having the kitties inside!" I had to smile and agree! Now I'm off to break it to the littlest joy that Tiger won't be sleeping IN his bed with him tonight!

Day 4~

Day 3~

Caught them playing together on the computer!
Don't want to forget the moments in which they get along!

Day 2~

Throwback drinks.

Happy to buy some for Cameron, because they're made with REAL sugar and not high fructose corn syrup!

Day 1~

Let's see if I can take a picture a day in 2010!
