Day 90~ Peanut Butter, Chocolate Chip & Oatmeal Cookies

Completely and totally inspired by this post, I had to try my hand at her recipe!

It was super easy, and made 4 dozen cookies!

My slightly adapted version is below.

1/2 lb of softened butter

1 cup brown sugar

1/2 cup succanat

2 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1 1/2 cups freshly milled flour

1 tsp. baking soda

1 tsp. cinnamon

1.2 tsp. good sea salt

3 cups oats

3/4 cup chocolate chips

1/2 cup peanut butter chips

Cream butter and sugars.

Mix in eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.

Stir in oats, chocolate chips, and peanut butter chips.

Drop spoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake at 350 for 10-12 mins.

Day 89~ bye-bye hair

It was obvious here that I needed a haircut.
And I was more than ready to get there and say goodbye to lots and lots of inches of thick, heavy curls.

Ahhhhh!Feels so much better!

Day 82~ Mexican Chicken Lasagna

This is one of our favorite go-to meals!

I received the recipe a couple of years back at a Pampered Chef party, but adapt it a little.

I'm not a fan of microwaves, don't even have one in the house, and this recipe was originally completely prepared in the microwave (YUCK, people, YUCK!)

Day 81~ belt promotion

You could feel the excitement in the air!
Wyatt is now a 1st degree brown belt!

Cameron is now a 1st degree blue belt!

Finally got around to boxing up these baby gifts to put in the mail today!

I had great pictures to post a tutorial on making the burp cloths, but they are locked away in my fatal error reading Dell. :(

They were pretty easy to make, and I'm just a novice!In other big news, our household has a new edition...Every child news to experience sea monkeys, right?We shall see!!!

The Part of Moving That's Tragic

We're almost finished moving, and I have SO much to share.
BUT... for some reason my favorite laptop... the one with photoshop... the one I use for everything... the one I love like it's one of my children... well, it just won't work!
It keeps telling me it has a 'fatal error'.
Doesn't sound good, huh?
I'm so sad!
BUT... there is hope! I have someone trying to help me get it up and running again!
Just as soon as it's working again, I'll get all my 365 in 2010 pics uploaded!

She is absolutely rotten!

Spoiled beyond recognition.

It's amazing that she can work the muscles in her paws, because she rarely has to use them to walk herself around.

She's normally snuggled in the oldest joy's arms, like a baby.

And when he's not home, she's snuggled into her spot on his bed.

Her spot has been known to take up 3/4 of the double bed.

Thank heavens she's a sweet little kitty.

Because Lord knows I'm not an animal lover.

But I am a Caroline lover!

Day 72~

( I know... I need a haircut!)

Tonight Superman and I headed out for a little hibachi to celebrate our 12 year anniversary!

It's really not our anniversary until tomorrow, but the joys were with the in-laws, so it was the perfect time.

I declare, I adore this man!

He's the best thing that ever happened to me!

And I tell him that all the time!

Day 71~

when you thought you were buying a new house years ago

and your littlest joy spotted this headboard on consignment

and the same little joy couldn't live without it

and begged and pleaded for said headboard every time you entered said store

you finally caved and bought it

you put it in storage

you didn't buy new house

three years later you move

with two weeks notice

you ask Superman to measure headboard

your guts tell you it is a double

Superman tells you he's sure it's a twin

and NOT a double

your guts still think it's a double

you ask Superman again to measure headboard

he parks by storage building every day at work

Superman doesn't check measurement

(you don't have a key to storage building to measure it yourself)

Superman insists it's a twin

you buy a new twin bed frame

you find a twin box springs

Superman brings home headboard

it's NOT a TWIN

New shoes for the boys today.

When did my joys get so big?

My 9-year-old is now wearing a men's 8.

My 11-year-old is now wearing a men's 10.

Wishing they would slow down and not grow up so quickly!

Day 69~

Dear AT&T,

When we found out we would be moving, I called and set up a move order for our phone lines, fax line, and internet service. You said, "No problem. This will be a seamless move. Simply plug your equipment in when you get there." Sadly, we have had many problems. We went a week without our landlines. You lost my two business lines, as well as our fax line. You then told me that even though you were responsible for losing them, that once they were gone you could do NOTHING about it. You made me go through 3 supervisors before you were miraculously able to give me back ring master and the numbers we pay to advertise in your yellow pages. Now that you have resolved all those issues, I thought I would show you what my inbox looks like when I'm forced to go 10 days without internet access in my home. I am afraid that if this is what a 'seamless' move looks like, then I'll wait to move until you no longer have a monopoly on the landline services I've grown accustomed to.

Day 68~

Shopped for Superman today.

He loves Sweet Tart Jelly Beans.

And Easter is the only time of year you can buy them.

We also found him a jar for his bedside table.

I think he's a little spoiled!
But that's OK!

I'm still going to keep him!

Besides, he shares them with me, too!

How much longer until I can have some sugar???

Day 67~

The carpet installer finally showed up!

It's 11:00 PM,

but it's finished

and I'm happy!

Day 66~

Now that he has his own room, this is how we typically see him.

Day 65~

Long day...

Carpet installer still hasn't shown up.

Aunts, uncles, and cousins showed up early this morning to help us finish moving the big stuff.

I baked pans of The Pioneer Woman's cinnamon rolls

(minus the coffee in the icing).

The big stuff is finished, aside from our bedroom.

Whenever the carpet installer finally shows up, I guess we'll be able to move our bedroom furniture.

10:17 PM

and I'm finally headed to bed!

But feeling thankful for all my family that has shown up and helped us!

Day 64~

The oldest joys is having no trouble adjusting to his new room.

He has a comfy, new mattress set.

(And is the 4th generation to sleep on that iron bed.)

He chose happy-colored walls and covers.

His Lego magazines and Bionicles have a spot on his bed.

Multiple remotes lie waiting for his nimble fingers to press their buttons.

What else could a boy ask for?

Day 63~

The boys and I are officially at the new house.

We're still waiting on the carpet installers to do our bedroom before we bring our bed over.

So, Superman is at the old house in the king-size bed--- with no tv as of tonight!

Hopefully he will survive!

Day 62~

Moving has brought out all sorts of wonderful skills in Superman.

He's now my personal Fix-It Man!

And that makes me smile!

Day 61~

There is something to be said for a fix-it man!
And I'm so lucky to have THREE of them at my house!
Superman has become quite skilled at laying hardwoods, and I'm tickled that the joys have been able to learn along side him. It does a mama's heart good to see her hot, hunk of a honey teaching her boys such things!

Here Wyatt and Superman are finishing up the last line of flooring in Wyatt's new room.

Day 60~ 2010 Fashions

Fashions for 2010 in our home include: shaggy hair & unbuttoned dress shirts paired with ties that somewhat match.

I can't say that I'm a huge of fan, but I'm choosing my battles.

This is not a battle worth fighting!

However, I may have to step in if the shaggy hair completely covers those beautiful blue eyes that I adore!
