Also in our house, some of our home improvement projects are more like television season ending cliffhangers. You are so caught up in the dramatic happenings, that you are blindsided when it all stops, and you must wait months for the conclusion! Anyone else ever been there?
Better yet, anyone wondering where on earth I'm going with all of this? I promise, this post is like a circular story. I'm getting there, really I am!
My dear friend, Inspired, is one of the few people who consistently leaves comments for me! And I love her for that! I really, really love her for that! Yesterday she and her Wonderful Husband wondered if Superman really has a flat screen in his shed. The answer to that is YES! It's not super huge, it's only 15 inches. But it is his, and only his! It has a built in DVD player that loads on the side. That's my favorite part...not that I spend time in the shed, I just have a weakness for gadgets.
You see, I am not the only one that has an Inner Shopping Maniac, oh no! My dear Superman has a pretty fierce one himself. And that Shopping Maniac normally comes out when he's in Home Depot or Circuit City or Sam's. It was on a fateful trip to Sam's that my beloved Superman came home with the first of his 15-inch flat screens. It was for one of those home improvement projects in which we are still staying tuned for the conclusion.
One day in the not-so-distant past, my master bathtub looked like this...
OK, maybe I should say that one of the walls around the tub looked like this! We had just replaced the faucet on the tub. In order to replace it, we had to tear out the step and the tile front. And when I say "we", I don't really mean "me". Superman tore out the step and the tile. I shopped for the new faucet and new tile. The plumber replaced the faucet!
All was well in my happy little world! We were having tile put down in our rental house across the street, and Superman's friend was going to lay the tile in our bathroom when he finished the rental house. But somewhere along the way, we got sidetracked! And when I say "we", I really mean Superman! After all, my job was finished... the faucet and tile were chosen, bought, and delivered!
So, this is my wall before...
And this is my wall afterwards...
Did you notice any tile work being completed?
Me either! All I saw was a plate rack disappear and a 15-inch flat screen with built-in DVD player and swivel hook appear. Because you know how hard it is to take a bath without a flat screen with built-in DVD player and swivel hook!
I'm staying tuned for the conclusion of this project. Luckily, the only part that is not complete is the tile. And I know when it's finished it will be gorgeous!
Focusing on the positive, now I can take baths in my own bathroom again.
Now I can watch a movie and take a bubble bath at the same time, in my own bathroom.
(Even if a movie is long enough to turn me into a prune! And I know that a movie is a tad too long, because James Bond and I barely survived the inaugural cinematic experience!)
And here's my new view from in the tub...
(Had to add this... Superman has just informed me that he needs start writing his own blog that re-tells my stories from his point of view. It will be aptly entitled Superman's Point of View, in case any one is wondering about his Wonder Woman's tales! Hee! Hee! Pure comedic gold don't you think? You just couldn't make this stuff up!)
He also babbled something about me picking out slate tiles that needed to be sealed before they could be installed...yadda yadda. But I'm sure that couldn't possibly have anything to do with the accuracy of my story! Right?!?!Anyway, I'll soon post a tour of Superman's shed, and all its man-cave glory. So stay tuned...

My husbands always tells his "side" of the story is funnier than mine. I point out the fact mine is the truth...then he spouts off his is the truth also with just added embellishments. So it might be interesting to hear Superman's story.
That is so Funny!! So what was the Bond, James Bond cinematic event??? You weren't in the tub when you were having it, were you??
I love commenting on your blog! You give me a smile every time I read it! And I will reserve your space AND daughter for next year's mother/daughter craft day!!!
